Our Signature Programmes

Power of Stories

Power of Stories aims to teach values through stories. Stories can emotionally connect children. It is an involvement of the heart and mind. Lessons will be conducted once per term to build class culture, teach and reinforce values. Parents can support by reading and discussing the stories with their children. Pupils in every level will be reading a book.

P1: I Like Me! By Nancy Carlson

P2: The Hueys in It Wasn’t Me by Oliver Jeffers

P3: The Dot by Peter H Reynolds

P4: Ish by Peter H Reynolds

P5: The Invisible Boy by Trudy Ludwig

P6: Oh, the Places You’ll Go by Dr Seuss

Speak Up, Speak Out

P1Poetry Recitation Programme focuses on helping pupils use reading readiness and word identification skills to recognise the sounds of words and phrases. When pupils read aloud, poetry is rhythm and music. The sounds and beats will encourage reluctant readers to enjoy reading.
P2Choral Reading Programme aims to build pupils’ fluency and confidence in reading aloud and develop their expressiveness, clarity and articulation.
P3Readers’ Theatre Programme focuses on helping pupils read with expressive voices and gestures.
P4Choral Speaking Programme aims to build pupils’ competency in reading and expressing themselves through the effective use of combining voices to convey meaning and develop imagination and creativity. As teamwork is encouraged, choral speaking promotes collaboration and resilience.
P5Public Speaking Programme aims to train eloquent speakers and equip pupils with skills to write a script to persuade audience on a topic. They will learn how to speak confidently and clearly, keeping the purpose, context and audience in mind.
P6Debate Programme focuses on teaching the debate structure and crafting of arguments to support the motion. Pupils will learn that there are two sides to an issue and think critically. Next, they learn how to express themselves confidently and clearly when making their argument.
